Over 4000 APC members have decamped to PDP

Ondo state governor Olusegun Mimiko has promised aspirants contesting under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of a level playing field in the forthcoming primary

The governor made this known on Monday July 18 while addressing stakeholders at Akure, the Ondo state capital. Mimiko said the party’s governorship primary would be free, fair and transparent.
He further said whoever emerges the candidate of the party will eventually occupy the Alagbaka Government House. He also urged members to work selflessly towards the victory of the party during the governorship election coming up in November.

To uphold his leadership position of the state, Mimiko said: “We welcome those who are ready to partner the PDP-led government in Ondo State toward consolidating on our globally-recognised achievements and making Ondo State remains a model that it is.”

The Ondo state governor expressed his belief that his party will triumph over the APC because the PDP is moving in the right direction, concluding that the over 4000 APC members who decamped to PDP in the Akure-North local government area shows the PDP is darling of the good people of Ondo.

While the PDP is planning its governorship primaries, about 50 aspirants are set to battle for the governorship ticket of the APC in Ondo state.
